Safe Chemicals Act of 2010: The Tweet-Up

Posted on April 27, 2010

Healthy Child Healthy World Twitter Party

Big thanks to our coalition partners Healthy Child, Healthy World for organizing a Twitter party designed to help our movement get informed and mobilized for real reform!

Here's more detailed information on the Tweet-up from the Healthy Child, Healthy World web site. . .

Parents should not have to be toxicologists to have a safe home. But, the chemical regulatory system is flawed and allows products our children are exposed to everyday to contain toxic chemicals that are making them sick. It's time for change.

The Safe Chemicals Act of 2010, introduced April 15th by Senator Lautenberg and Congressmen Waxman and Rush is long-awaited, landmark legislation that will overhaul the way the federal government protects the public from toxic chemicals. Now, it's up to us to make sure that the bill isn't watered down before it's passed. It's time to speak up and spread the word that our children need protection more than the chemical industry needs profits.

This is a once in a generation opportunity!! Please join us on Thursday April 29th at 6pmPST/9pmEST to learn more about the bill — both its strengths and weaknesses — and how each of us can take simple steps to support it.

Our special guests this week are Margie Kelly from Safer Chemicals Healthy Families and Claire Moshenberg from MomsRising — two organizations that represent millions of people fighting to protect our children's health. Are you ready to join the battle? You will be after this Twitter party.

It is important to know which food contains the chemicals that are not good for the body. It is a good idea that there is a safe chemical act for the public safety. It is very important that for all we know, the food that we eat is free from harmful chemicals that might cause a lot of diseases.

I am a huge non-toxic chemical advocate for everyone and first and foremost, our children.
